Starting Weapons/Powers: He mostly uses his fire magic, but he can wield a bow fairly well. He's better at ranged attacks than he is at melee combat.
Family: None that he really cares about.
History: Neku was born to a sickly family who never had enough money, or food, or clothes. Neku was the youngest of five children, having four older sisters. While his family was sickly, Neku was strong. Or at least stronger than they were. As his family died one by one, Neku slowly grew to take care of himself. By the time he was 5, his entire family had died and he was living on his own. He managed fairly well, using his fire magic to cook his food and also using it to protect himself. A year later, with Neku becoming dangerously underweight, travelers found the house and took him in, gawking at his too-skinny body.
Neku never did regain all of the weight he'd lost. He was discovered as a Skrit when he lost his temper with his caretakers, yelling, "You're not my mother!" and exploding into flames - literally! Hot water was dumped on him to calm him down that time, and it nearly killed him. The only reason it didn't was because it was warm water. It also kind of evaporated as soon as it touched his body. He stayed with the travelers until he was 10, at which point he decided they didn't know how to take care of him properly and ran away. He grew up on the streets of a town he never learned the name of, fighting off monsters and getting paid for doing so.
When he was 15, Neku wandered again, bored with the old town. He met a strange person on the way to Gold City, the person simply radiated power. The two talked for a bit, and Neku discovered that the other's name was Jonathan. Neku ended up not going to Gold City after his meeting with the stranger, and instead wandered around the coast a bit. He met with a group called "the Organization", but he ended up not joining because he didn't feel like what they were doing was right. At the age of 20, he met with the strange person again, and found out that Jonathan was a God. However, since Neku really didn't care, he never bowed down or did anything reverent. The God was his friend, and that was that.
Since then, Neku has come up with the nickname "J" for Jonathan, and has grown used to the pranks and tricks the God pulls. Now 25, Neku is starting to wonder if Jonathan is his friend or more...
