Welcome to the site! We are Into The Light, a roleplay forum loosely based on Legend of Zelda.
This is more of an archive these days. Thank you for all of the adventures we had, and good luck as you move on to your next ones!
The site is going through some big changes right now, so expect to see some different stuff soon! You may notice that some of the threads are missing. If they're roleplay threads, you can find them in the Archive, and feel free to continue them. If they're character applications, they'll be in the Character Applications board. When we're doen with the update, just change them to fit the new site/app (not too different) and we'll be happy to accept them again.
A silverette, followed by a entourage of hopelessly love-struck boys and a girl by his side, stopped to gawk at a red and white dress.
"Oh, Caila, look at this dress! It's so pretty! Unfortunately, I don't think it'd look good on me." He turns to study the girl next to him. "It'd look absolutely marvelous on you, though."
The silver-haired boy had on a simple, white, sleeveless shirt and a short jean skirt, as well as high-heeled black boots that went up to his knees. With a beautiful purple-pink flower in his hair behind his ear and his hair so carefully brushed and styled, he looked like a very pretty teenage girl. Which was exactly what he was going for. The boys behind him waited patiently, even though they were carrying his and Caila's shopping bags. His eyes were currently green which, along with the feather clipped into his hair being a bright pink, revealed his personality to be Kitten. Made sense that Kitten would like shopping. Then again, Zel too liked shopping.
Kitten moved on once he was sure that Caila had gotten a good look at the dress. They were heading to Caila's house, and which point they would be free to try on everything they'd bought.
"Oh, look! We're nearly there." Turning to the boys, he gave them a sweet smile. "Of course, you big, strong men will help us get the bags to the door, won't you?"
"O-Oh, o-of course, Miss Zel!" they said, each one of them with a blush. Kitten giggled and blew them a kiss, at which point the boys fell into more of a trance. Kitten started trotting to the house again, quietly laughing and talking with Caila. The two had met only a few months ago, when she'd scared Squirrel so badly that he fell out of the tree he had been sleeping in. Luckily, there was no real harm done. Except for scraped hands which quickly healed, he was uninjured. Zel had been the one to tell Caila about the multiple personality thing, and so far the five hadn't scared her away.
Once they got to the door, Kitten had the boys put the bags down and sent them off with another blown kiss. Right after, Kitten switched into Squirrel, the feather turning a deep purple and his eyes becoming light turquoise. Opening the door, Squirrel made an eep sound at the sight of someone inside, hiding behind Caila.
"W-Who's t-that?" he stutters in a whisper, hoping it's not someone he'll have to fight to protect Caila. If it's a robber, well, it's a good thing none of the five go anywhere without a backup knife hidden in the waistline of the skirt.

Caila stops to give the dress a thoughtful look. "You really think so?" she asks to nobody really in particular. The boys are mostly too smitten with Zel (a fact that makes her laugh really hard on the inside) to pay her much attention. She doesn't really mind though. Any shopping trips with the younger boy are always extremely fun and very hard on her budget, but the last part is fine with her.
Mm, that dress though... She finally decides that yes, it's in her size and no, it's not too expensive. After very quickly buying it, she heads after Zel (or Kitten in this case, she still couldn't really tell) and catches up with the group. Good, they're almost home. Almost time to ditch the boys and have a cute mini fashion show.
When Squirrel opens the door and hides behind her, she tenses, fearing someone broke into the house. Good thing she always has her medical bag on her and some tools are quite sharp. Then she gasps, a giant grin appearing on her face. "Caiden! You're home!"
Caiden is standing over by the sofa, a little hesitant. He doesn't know the cute silver haired girl, though he figures she must be one of Caila's friends. His sister definitely has a lot of luck with friends, not like him anyway. Or maybe it's skill. She is more social than him by far.
Seeing her brings a smile to his face though, and a yelp when she runs forward and hugs him. "Hey Caila. Yeah, I'm back. Did I come at a bad time?"
She suddenly frowns. "Yes. You should have showed up a month ago, right after I got your last letter. You know how I get when I don't get your letters and you're off somewhere! I was worried sick!" Grabbing a paperback book off of the side table, she whacks him on the head once. Then she puts in down and hugs him again. "I missed you, Cai."
He looks sheepish, but hugs her back again. Ow, she hits hard. "I'm sorry sis. I'll write more next time."
"Well you better not be leaving again anytime soon." She suddenly pulls back, looking back at Zel. "Oh, sorry! Caiden, this is Zel, my friend. Zel, this is Caiden. My big brother."
Caiden gives the girl a shy "Hello."

Squirrel just sort of watches the entire procession, trying to figure out if Caila ever mentioned to him that she had a brother.Vaguely recalling one time, he returns the hello in an even shier voice than this older boy has.
"Caila, I'll, um, take our bags to your room." Without waiting for an answer, he takes the bags and skitters to Caila's room. He faintly notices a bag of letters on her bed, but Squirrel very suddenly switches over to Zel and notices his hair in Caila's mirror. Oh hell no, he was not going back out there, not with this rat's nest. He dutifully takes one of his brushes out of his bag and begins to brush his hair until it looks nice.
Exiting the room, he confronts Caila and sternly asks her, "Why didn't you tell me my hair was a mess?" His arms are crossed over his chest, and he's pouting. He can't stay like that for long, though, he can never stay mad at Caila. He sighs and just tells her that she shouldn't be afraid of telling him that his hair was a rat's nest.
Then he turns to Caila's older brother. "Hello," he says politely, even though Squirrel said it earlier. "It's nice to meet you, I've heard a lot about you."

Listening to their hellos, Caila has to stop herself from giggling evilly. She ships them now. It would be so wonderful to have Zel as a new brother...
When Zel comes downstairs though, she turns a little pale. "Sorry!" she squeaks, "I didn't notice." She nods sheepishly at his words though and looks properly ashamed of herself. But she smiles when he turns to talk to Caiden. Let the blackmail opportunities begin...
Caiden promptly turns pink when the girl mentions that she's heard a bunch about him. "O-oh?" he says, glancing at Caila. She nods, telling him with her eyes that he'd better keep talking and not run off or else. "Oh. It's nice to meet you too." Feeling like he should compliment her before he makes more of a fool of himself, he says quietly "Y-you look really n-nice in that outfit, miss..." It's a struggle to meet her eyes; he's not great with new people.

Zel blushes a little, but hopefully it's hidden under his makeup. "Thank you," he trills happily. He spins in a small circle, and then remembers the new clothes. "Oh, Caila, the clothes! They'll lose their new-clothes smell if we leave them waiting for too long!" He gives Caiden a sort of pleading look. "Oh, you will watch, won't you?" Then Zel grins a little. "Never mind, if you know what's good for you, you'll watch."
Zel twirls away, already trying to think up a way to fluster Caiden. Of course, there's always his new ballet outfit. He'll go with that.
Once Caila is in the room and the door is shut, Zel lets himself giggle very girlishly. "See, Caila, I told you that everyone falls for the girl look. Hmm, do you think that if I leave my ballet outfit for last, I'll fluster him enough?"

Caiden's smile grows. It wasn't just a fake compliment; she does look great... When Zel asks if he'll watch something though, probably them in their new clothes, he turns pink again. But he can't do anything but nod. Hopefully it won't be too long and he won't be too pink by the time it's over. Oh, who is he kidding...
Caila nods. "You're right. Let's go see how they fit." She gives Caiden a grateful smile and he tries to smile back. Then she heads up the stairs with Zel. After she shuts the door, she turns to her bags. The bag on her bed was definitely not there before, but she'll check it later. It's probably not important.
When Zel mentions how he's trying to fluster her brother, Caila sighs. "Oh definitely. But Zel? Please be... careful with him? He's not good with people, poor thing, and he's so naive. Don't break his heart or anything please?"
Heading over to her bags, only three for her, she pulls out the red dress. That will be last. For now she picks out a nice new pair of jeans and a light purple blouse. That will be nice to start.

"Oh, I won't hurt him," Zel protests quietly. "I'm not mean. I'd like to be friends with him, he's a sweetheart." Zel looks through one of his own three bags and holds up an outfit he'd really liked, an ocean-blue blouse, a jean skirt with a blue flower embroidered on it, and a simple gold necklace. That would be a good place to start before he and Caila started getting into the dresses.
Looking over at said girl, he barely contains a squeal. "Darling, that outfit is so you. No matter how many times I see it, I am always going to say that."
Once both of them are finished changing, Zel looks at his outfit worriedly. "I really do hope this skirt isn't too short. Do you think it is?"

Caila nods, smiling. "Ok. I didn't think you would hurt him. He's just a little... sensitive I guess is the best word." She laughs. "Sometimes he's more like my little brother. Ooh, nice outfit." At the compliment, she smiles wider, glad she got it. "Thank you. Now to hope it fits and find a place to wear it to. Maybe we can throw a party and invite my brother so he can finally find a date and I can wear my new dress..."
She changes quickly, and smiles. Perfect fit. At the question, she turns and looks over at her friend. "No, that's fine. You can pull anything off, sweetie. With those looks I'd like to see something that wouldn't look perfect on you." Caila glances at the door. "Ready to go downstairs and wow Caiden?"

"NO alcohol if you do have a party, okay? I'll get very drunk. You know that." At the compliment, he blushes a tiny bit. "Trust me, there are certain colors that just do not go with my hair. You're lucky; every color goes with your hair." Zel glances at his outfit again, then smiles brightly. "Oh yeah. Your brother won't know what hit him. He'll be wishing you weren't his sister, that's for sure."
Zel hesitantly steps out of the room, hoping that his shirt doesn't give away the fact that he's wearing fake breasts. He doesn't normally go out without them, though he does when he's doing his job and when he's going to the bar.
Very shyly, he comes into Caiden's view. He says nothing, only flashing a smile towards the brown-haired boy. He's very cute, that's for sure.

She grins. "Don't worry, I won't be making that mistake. And we'd better not invite anyone who'd spike the drinks. Aww, thanks." She even blushes a little at the compliment on how she looks. "Nah, Caiden's not really like that. And I don't think I'm his type anyway." Zel leaves, and she waits patiently for his return.
Caiden looks up where he's standing and can't help but stare, a blush forming on his face again. If only he was wearing make-up like the girls probably were. Zel looks really cute in that outfit. He gives her a shy smile back and says "You look very nice, Zel..." Of course that only makes his face redder and he has to look away, embarrassed.

Zel smiles a little, then curtsies with a thank-you and heads back to Caila's room. By the time he gets there, he is the tomato queen of tomatoes.
"Your brother is like a really big, really sweet puppy," he gushes rummaging for another outfit. He can't figure out how he managed to fluster Caiden in this outfit. Zel could only imagine how he would react to the dresses, oh dear...
He pulls out a red tanktop, short shorts, and a flower headband. This should be good...

Caila giggles. "See? What did I say." Then she leaves, going to show off her outfit. Caiden doesn't blush when he sees her, but he does smile. It looks like he's still recovering from his blush after Zel's curtsy. "You look nice, sis. The purple and blue look really good on you."
"Thanks!" she chirps, and Caila skips back upstairs. Time for the next outfit. "Poor thing was still trying to get rid of that pretty pink color his face turned after you were down there. Nothing even close for me. I think he likes you. At least a little." Pulling through her bags, she picks out her second outfit. This one is a dress, a sky blue sundress with a matching hat. She changes quickly, carefully hanging up her first outfit so it won't wrinkle.

Zel, now in his outfit, blushes a little. "I can't have been that pretty. I think I just confused him with my little curtsy." Then he heads downstairs, quietly shows off his outfit with a gleaming smile on his face, and hurries back to Caila's room.
"I don't think he's going to last very long as we progress onto the dresses," Zel chirps, blushing a tiny bit. He hopes his makeup covers it. Next is a lavender dress with a V-neck and no straps. Hopefully he won't make the poor puppy faint. Fainting would not be good. He also hopes that Caiden doesn't show up at the bar tonight, because he's going to be drinking heavily.

Caila just rolls her eyes, not believing a word. Then Zel is gone and she waits her turn. It would be nice if she could see Caiden's face but she does want to give the two some privacy. If she doesn't, Caiden might run off and miss the dresses.
Caiden's blush is back again, of course. Wow. Not much skin covered there. Still, she looks pretty in the outfit. He gives her a reassuring smile through his blush and a thumbs up. She leaves quickly, and he sits down on the couch. There, something stable so he doesn't faint from embarrassment or anything.
Caila replies "Nope. I hope he's sitting down now because I saw the dresses you picked out and you will wow him." She heads downstairs and gets a "Very pretty, Caila. Nice pick." Then she heads back upstairs, glad she only got a few. Then she can watch from downstairs as Zel wows her brother. "Go for it, hon!" she says to Zel, grinning.

Zel blushes brightly, and has to focus on getting his dress on straight to ward it off. After Caiden sees the pretty lavender dress on him, Zel begins to look forward to making the older boy blush. One by one, the dresses dwindle down. At one point, Zel wears his bright pink ballet outfit, careful to keep from turning his back on Caiden to prevent embarrassing the poor boy even more. Zel does notice that Caiden is sitting down now, though.
Finally, Zel has only one dress left. "Er, you go. I'm not sure if I want to show him this dress." It's a skintight, black dress that barely covers half of his thighs. "I'm... not too sure that he won't faint from this and I don't want to embarrass him too much."
